Counselling

Specialist in online and remote Therapies, supporting you with those important mental health issues including Bereavement and Anxiety as a direct result of Covid19. Our world changed drastically in March 2020 when we adjusted our lives to manage Lockdown. Confidential Professional Counselling and CBT Service now work online and with telephone in the same way as face to face Counselling and Hypnotherapy. It may be important for you to be reassured that I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate and am qualified to work with individuals, couples, organisations and Public Sector Services and children over 16.

I currently work with a number of National Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP's) and Organisations who provide their employees with Counselling, Critical Incident and Trauma Response. I provide Mandatory Supervision for Specialist Teams for which I have over 25 years’ experience, something I feel proud to have worked with dedicated Professionals from Police, Probation, NHS, Education, Healthcare, Prison, Fire Service, Ambulance Frontline Workers and many varied Production and Manufacturers Workers who all bring a wealth of life experiences and challenges they face in their working and personal lives.
Many of my clients experience difficulties with a whole range of issues, and my aim is to reduce and prevent their sickness and absence and support return to work. At initial assessment I ask them what they are seeking support with and if they were to walk away completely satisfied with our sessions, what they would have achieved.
These life issues they bring often include work related stress, anxiety, overload and burnout, problematic relationships, loss, depression, low self-esteem, bullying, lack of confidence and assertiveness. They often bring health concerns and many more overwhelming difficulties that influence and affect daily life.

What is Counselling?

The BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) definition of counselling is :- ‘Counselling takes place when a counsellor sees a client in a private and confidential setting to explore a difficulty the client is having, distress they may be experiencing or perhaps their dissatisfaction with life, or loss of a sense of direction and purpose. It is always at the request of the client as no one can properly be 'sent' for counselling. You can be reassured that I am an Accredited member of the BACP and work within their ethical framework and guidelines. I receive regular supervision in line with BACP requirements. For information you can visit:- www.bacp.co.uk.
